Knob & Tube | Aluminum | Cloth Insulated (NMC) | Rewire Specialists
If so, it may have dangerous knob & tube, aluminum or cloth insulated electrical wiring throughout your walls, ceilings and floors. Cloth based wiring has no ground wire and should not come into contact with modern insulation. AND According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, aluminum wiring is 55 times more likely to create fire hazard conditions.

Absolutely! For purposes of work, comfort and convenience, we completely understand how important it is to keep both your power/internet on during the day and the house feeling reasonably normal. Your Connected Electrical installation team will coordinate with you in advance the dates and times when they will need to cut power, so that you can factor those limited times into your busy work/life schedule. Also, while all rewires generate unavoidable dust and require some drywall and plaster penetrations, our expert rewire crews know every trick to help reduce the number of necessary cuts and for working clean. Take comfort in knowing that our installation crews take great pride in respecting your home.
You may think that a whole house electrical rewire will be a painful, long, invasive experience. But the answer is, it doesn’t have to be and experience really counts! Connected Electrical employs several, highly trained and expert crews who can typically rewire a 1500-2500 square ft home in roughly 5-7 business days and a 2500-5000 sq ft home in approximately 2-3 weeks. Yes! A partial or whole home rewire absolutely requires a permit by the Building Department. Only electrical contractors that are fully state licensed, bonded, insured are eligible to register as a contractor with a building department & pull an electrical permit for a partial or whole home rewire. Be very careful when dealing with any contractor who states that a permit is not necessary for a partial or whole home rewire, or tells you to pull a homeowner’s permit. This may indicate that they are not actually state licensed or are trying to cut corners with the building department. Work performed without a permit or by an unlicensed electrical contractor may cause issues with your homeowner’s insurance or on resale of your home if a problem arises in the future.

Connected Electrical took on a complete house re-wire for us. We have been extremely pleased with their attentiveness and flexibility, We had several challenges with the house remodel and the owner Marc personally helped accommodate us by working around the other trades and our needs. Absolute professionals.
I also used them during the sale of my mother’s house to fix non-code-compliant issues. They took care of them quickly and did more than what was needed.
If you want honest people who do good work, this is the place to call for your electrical needs. I can’t say enough how happy we are with Connected Electrical and working with Marc.
Good luck finding a better company, you won’t!

This was a great first experience with this company! We had Tyler, Logan, and Nick at our home every day this week, and they were awesome. They worked on removing our knob and tube wiring throughout the whole house and replaced it with a new electrical system. They worked hard and always made sure we were good before they left for the day, and they managed to keep our fridge and Wi-Fi on the entire week which was pretty great. Also, they were able to add outlets and light fixtures in the middle of it all too. We are so relieved with the results and will request these guys for future electrical projects! Thank you!

I can’t say enough good things about the knob and tube rewire that the team at Connected Electrical did. They deactivated the knob and tube throughout my entire house, replaced it with Romex, and added additional outlets to code. Throughout the entire process, the whole team was professional and diligent, walked me through each step of what they were planning, and did everything they could to minimize the amount they needed to open up walls. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking to do a partial or whole home rewire, and will definitely be coming back to them for any future electrical work.
